The course is designed to give young caregivers real-world knowledge they can use to stay calm, make smart decisions, and provide dependable care for families.

These courses cover emergency preparedness, hazard awareness, injury prevention, and practical safety techniques that build confidence in both home and professional environments.
Develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide safe, nurturing, and effective care for children of all ages. Topics include supervision, age-appropriate activities, child development basics, communication, and creating positive environments that support healthy growth and learning.
Gain the confidence to respond quickly and effectively during medical emergencies. First Aid training covers the assessment and treatment of common injuries and illnesses, including cuts, burns, bleeding, allergic reactions, and other situations where immediate care can make a difference.
Learn lifesaving techniques for responding to choking emergencies involving infants, children, and adults. Participants will practice recognizing airway obstructions and performing the appropriate rescue procedures to help restore normal breathing until emergency assistance arrives.

Learn how to recognize cardiac and breathing emergencies and provide immediate lifesaving care. CPR training teaches proper chest compressions, rescue breathing, AED usage, and emergency response procedures for adults, children, and infants.
Prepare for the unique needs of newborns and infants with practical, hands-on training. Topics include feeding, diapering, safe sleep practices, bathing, illness prevention, developmental milestones, and creating a safe and healthy environment for a baby’s first year.

This curriculum is appropriate for ages 11 to 14.
Babysitting as a Business
Students learn how to screen jobs for their safety and ability level, as well as what information to leave with their parents and get from their employers.
Infant & Child Choking Rescue
Students learn what to do if an infant or child chokes. Students are individually tested using CPR manikins.
Injury Prevention & Injury Management
Students learn a system to evaluate the severity and urgency of a problem and determine how to get help. Students learn to prevent injuries by learning how, why, and where injuries can occur.
Behavior Management
Students learn how to prevent problem behavior in addition to a system to determine the severity and urgency of the problem behavior.
Safety for the Sitter
All aspects of staying safe are discussed for those home alone or babysitting. Students learn how to react to a variety of threatening situations from power failures to prowlers.
Child Care Essentials
Students learn the basics of child development from infants to school age children. Practice is included for skills like feeding and diapering.
Infant and Child CPR
Students learn infant and child CPR techniques that follow guidelines set by the American Heart Association.
